Company history

Abbey Lane Vacuum and Sewing was born in September 2008, after A-1 Vacuum and Sewing closed its doors after 65 years of service to the Albuquerque community, so that the owner could pursue new life adventures.  Gerry, A-1's store manager and employee for over 20 years, opened Abbey Lane to pursue her vision of the best sewing and vacuum shop possible.  Along with her knowledge and experience, she brings with her most of A-1's superior staff and products and continues to improve the product offerings and service.

 In September, 2010, Abbey Lane expanded to twice its original size to accommodate ever-increasing products and services, including a larger selection of sewing machines, vacuums, and supplies; carpet cleaner rentals; long-arm quilter rentals; fabric; and an expanded classroom.
